Project Overview — Electrical Installation for a Korean TPE Car Mat Factory
Technical drawings, commercial proposals, and contracts were provided in three languages — Russian, English, and Korean — ensuring clear communication and smooth approval by the client’s management in Korea.
Scope of work completed:
- Provided the main power connection from the transformer substation to the factory
The transformer was installed by another contractor, and our scope started from connecting the factory to the transformer.
2. Installed the main power supply from the transformer substation to the factory building via an underground cable trench
Initially, the building had no opening for an underground power entry. The client expected that the power supply would have to be brought in via an overhead line.
However, we proposed an underground solution: we created an opening for the cables using diamond drilling and placed all utility lines below ground. This approach is more cost-effective, convenient, and safer than an overhead connection.
3. Assembled and installed electrical switchboards on site
The ratings of the circuit breakers were selected according to the power of the connected equipment.
We equipped all switchboards with protective glass covers and warning labels to ensure worker safety and prevent accidental contact with live components.
Main switchboard «A» with a 1,250-amp incoming circuit breaker and an electricity meter
Distribution board “B”
Distribution board “С”
The switchboards were fully assembled on site by our own team.
We did not involve external assembly providers, allowing us to maintain full control over the quality of all components.
At the client’s request, we added status indicator lights to all switchboards, allowing easy monitoring of equipment operation.
Each indicator was clearly labeled in both English and Russian for convenience and safety.
A sub-panel for lighting was supplied from main switchboard “A”.
Extra space was reserved in the panel for additional breakers for potential future equipment.
4. Installed cable support systems and laid all power and control cables
The cable cross-sections were chosen based on the power requirements of the connected equipment.
We routed power cables and installed sockets for connecting the factory equipment according to the machine layout plan.
Some machines were planned to be placed in the center of the production hall.
To prevent power cables from obstructing staff and forklift operations, we routed the cables in a floor trench, laid them, and then restored the floor.
The factory’s most powerful machines — the forming machine and the extruder — are powered through their dedicated machine panels.
We performed the connections.
5. We designed and installed new lighting for the cutting area, while the existing lighting in other zones was kept at the client’s request
